Clothes:
“Ahhh.. I have nothing to wear!”
Take a deep breath. This photoshoot is for you and we want you to have fun. Don’t think perfection~ slicked back hair, loafers, and stockings are nice.. but we want you to have fun and to show who YOU really are. Keep it fun.
Layers and accessories are always a favorite. They bring a free and fun spirit to the picture. Hats. scarves, boots, and other accessories, jackets, shirts layered over other shirts.. oh and don’t be afraid of texture! All of these can really make your picture pop!
Color:
Black, red, white?
Coordinating your colors rather than matching them work so much better. Take a look in the mirror.. avoid colors that make your skin look too washed out. Just because you love a color or maybe you saw a nice picture and everyone was in red. This doesn’t mean you will look just like them. Wearing colors that look good against your skin will make the picture spectacular. For families or couples, choose a color and mix and match it up... Example: Someone wears a teal tie along with muted colors, someone else wears a black top and plaid skirt- but the skirt has the same popping teal, someone else wears khaki shorts, a white top and a teal vest- the theme color is teal and you work it all in differently. Remember, this is a chance to show off all the amazing that is already you. Not all colors are created equally. We recommend avoiding these colors:
Avoid white, bright red and all-black outfits. All three of these colors pose technical problems. For instance, before shooting, your photographer will adjusts the camera exposure for your face, so if you’re wearing a bright white top, that top will glow. (A small amount of white is okay peeking out from under a jacket and tie, but your best bet is to opt for a light blue.) Black poses the same problem. When the camera exposure is correct on your face, black looks too dark or “crushed.” The definition of your garment will be lost, so you’ll look shapeless. And bright red sometimes “bleeds” on camera, giving off a slight, hazy halo.
Face/Body:
Men, women, children please put chapstick on before you step in front of the camera.. there is nothing like dry crackly lips to bring attention to a smile. Please remember to lotion.. especially elbows and knees.
If you have a tattoo consider showing it off. We can help the colors pop to add a unique pic.
Women:
Wear a little more make-up than you would usually. If you’re not comfortable wearing make-up please consider: Mascara, eyeliner and a little lip color help your best features come through the picture. Most importantly, please bring a nice shiny lipgloss. It can, but doesn’t have to, have a color tint. The camera loves a nice shine.
Men:
Have your hair and any facial hair groomed prior to the shoot.
Children:
Please lotion your childs face, this will bring out a healthy glow. Again, chapstick is a must. (Girl Child) Please bring a nice clear lipgloss and a brown or soft black mascara.
“Ahhhh a zit? Forget it, I can’t take my pictures today!”
Don’t worry about a zit that decided this was a perfect day to show up. Have a scar?.. Who doesn’t or maybe you hate that mole everyone calls a beauty mark. If you don’t want it there, we’ll remove it.

Why is it worth the extra $ for an Open Gallery- Complete Download?
We know you’ll want to share your images with everyone you love. Why have the agony of forcing yourself to choose how many 5x7’s or 8x10’s to have printed?
You want the freedom to share them, print them, gift them, to fill your albums and empty spaces on your walls. We want you to be able to share them with those you love through Facebook, mail or even email, so that your favorite Grandparent or Aunt can see how you’ve grown.
And most importantly, these pictures are a part of your history, a part of you. You will replace photos in frames, but the files should be yours to pull-up forever. You can own the original, digital version of the photos we took. With an Open Gallery- Complete Download, you won’t need our permission to print pictures of you.
